Chichester District Council
Identifying residents experiencing vulnerability and early intervention to support those in Council Tax Arrears
Chichester District Council serves a rural population of 124,000. The council had traditionally worked in a silo approach, a new multi-disciplinary team was set up to help residents with cost-of-living pressures.
What we did:
Chichester District Council used TellJO to identify and engage vulnerable residents, creating tailored support based on the data received. Residents were offered a digital wellbeing check to identify if they qualified for extra support including missed benefits, energy rebate and council tax support.
Watch the video to see how the council used digital wellbeing checks to engage residents and prevent homelessness.
Client feedback:
We would not have been able to run our discretionary energy scheme without TellJO. TellJO helped us identify and pay residents who were choosing between ‘heating or eating’. We used the Government energy rebate to help them clear their gas and electricity arrears before moving into the cold Winter months. For these people, that kind of money can be life changing.”Benefits and Systems Support Manager Chichester District Council
User feedback:
Local resident Emma said, “If I hadn’t have had the link for TellJO, then my home was actually at risk, don’t really know where I would be right now.”
